On Tuesday 30th June 2009, Fr Loughran Parish Priest of St Clare's celebrated his Silver Jubilee. A small reception was held for Fr Loughran in the parish hall following the evening mass in order to mark the occasion of 25 years service.

A rather damp and dismal May afternoon was brightened up by a procession of children from St Clare's Primary School to the Church. The Marian devotions began in the school hall where the children, staff and parents had gathered. The children had come armed with poses of flowers with which to adorn the statue of our Lady which they duly did when the procession reached church. The statue, together with the flowers became a shrine which was present in church over the weekend of the Confirmations and was thereby seen by many more people than usual. We took great pleasure in honouring our Lady and asking for he loving intercession.

Canon Aidan Turner, the Vicar general of the Lancaster Diocese inducted Fr Chris Loughran as our Parish Priest today (17/10/08).

Many of our parishioners attended the service in order to show support for Fr Chris and offer him a warm welcome to the parish.

Following the service there was a parish social event and hotpot supper in the chuch hall, providing an excellent opportunity for parishioners to get to know Fr Chris. This was also an opportunity to see examples of some of the work that goes on in the parish such as the SVP group and highlight some of the events that are taking place in the parish over the coming weeks.

On Sunday 6th September we said farewell to Fr Lakeland at a parish BBQ. The weather held out for the afternoon as the parish gathered to pay tribute to Fr Lakeland after 26 years service at St Clare's.

A lifelong Preston North End Fan, Fr Michael was presented with a number of gifts by none other than Sir Tom Finney. Following the football theme, the gifts included a signed card by all the players at PNE, a subscription to Sky Sports and a cheque for £500.
