Tonight we had the first meeting of our CTS Book Club, a chance to share some reflections on our spiritual reading.

Lent

Lent

WHAT DOES ‘LENT’ MEAN?

Our word ‘Lent’ is taken from the Anglo-Saxon and means ‘Spring’ or ‘Lengthening.’ Lent is that time of year when the days lengthen, and hopefully a time when the light of faith also grows stronger for us. The season begins on Ash Wednesday and culminates in the celebration of the Lord's death and resurrection in Holy Week.

Soup de Jour 2015!

2064

It has become a bit of a custom that each Friday lunchtime in Lent, following the noon Mass, a soup lunch is served in the Parish Hall.
