Sunday 24th January was the Sunday in the Octave of Prayer for Christian Unity, and it saw the parishes and ecclesial communities of Fulwood gathered together in the Anglican church of Christ Church on Victoria Road.
The Unity Service was led by the Vicar of Christ Church, Rev. Brian McConckey. It took the form of a Songs of Praise where one member from each congregation (pictured) chose a hymn and explained the spiritual significance of that hymn to the folk gathered in the church, then we all sang it.
Towards the end of the Service, the leaders of each congregation (pictured) re-signed the Covenant of agreement between the churches. During the Service a collection was taken to be forwarded to the aid work in Haiti. At the end of the proceedings refreshments were available.
