When Jesus sat down with his Apostles to eat his Last Supper, he did so in the context of the Passover Meal and through his action at that meal he gave us the Eucharist. He celebrated in signs what he would achieve on the cross the very next day.
Our Mass springs out of the Passover Meal. And so it was that 50 parishioners gathered on the Monday of Holy Week to celebrate with great dignity and sensitivity the origins of the Mass. We recalled that we are all children of Abraham and spiritual semites as we prceeded through the meal remembering the actions of the Lord Jesus. It was an important community celebration and one which brought home the foundations of our Mass.
