Altar ServersWell it wasn't the 'Feast of Stephen' but we still sang 'Good King Wenceslas' at the beginning of the annual Mass for our Altar Servers. We usually assemble on Boxing Day, the Feast of St Stephen, but this year because Boxing Day was on a Sunday, we opted for the Feast of St. Thomas of Canterbury.

Altar Servers

About half of our Servers were able to be with us and three who had served for just one year were enrolled into the Guild of St. Stephen. The Gospel for the feast could not have been better. It was Jesus telling his Apostles that he had come not to be served but to serve. And that is the task of the Altar Server, to make Jesus present b the way that they serve at Mass.

At the end of Mass each Server present received a Rosary made near to the refugee settlement in Bosnia which the parish supports.
