Our church is not the biggest in Preston and therefore, will not accommodate all our First Holy Communion children and their families all in one go. So today we had the first of two 'sittings', the second will follow next week.
But what added to the importance of this great parish event was the fact the it was the glorious feast of Corpus Christi - The Body & Blood of the Lord.
The children, all beautifully turned out, were very reverent and participated well in the Mass.
On Thursday July 7th there will be a thanksgiving Mass for the whole group by which time all of them will have received their first Holy Communion. That Mass will be at 6pm and will replace the usual 7pm Mass.
