It has reached that time of year when we look forward to celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation with some of our young people. The Sacrament will be conferred by Bishop Campbell early in July, so over these next months the boys and girls will undergo a thorough course of preparation led by the Parish Catechists.
What follows will make no sense, but the course began before it began! Let me explain: we always begin with an Enroment Mass when the young people signal their intention to do their very best throughout the course of preparation. The Mass was well attended and each candidate signed a certificate saying that the parish would support them and that they would do their very best to engage with the course. The congregation too, agreed to pray for these boys and girls.
Now, if that is the beginning what do you call what the girls and boys did the day before? A pre-beginning course? Well, whatever you want to call it, the embedded powerpoint should give you an idea of what the young people got up to on the Confirmation Day held at Brettargh Holt on the Saturday.
It is up to the whole of our parish Community (and those who visit this website) to pray for these young people throughout the course of this Confirmation Programme.
