Quarant OreQuarant Ore, the Latin term which means 'forty hours', is the name we give to the solemn prolonged exposition of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. Each year every parish in the diocese is asked to hold Quarant Ore for worship of Jesus present in the Blessed Sacrament.

This year the Bishop has particularly asked for prayers for priestly vocations during the time of Quarant Ore.

Our parish Quarant Ore got off to a very reverent start in St. Calre's Primary School. The children sat in reverent silence, a pin could be heard dropping, as the boys and girls contemplated that Jesus had visited their school in this special way. This was followed by a procession to the church and a time of prayer and devotion.

Quarant Ore extends over the next three days: Friday until a Holy Hour at 7pm; saturday after the 10am Mass until just before the 6pm Vigil Mass, and Sunday from after the 9.30am Mass until a Holy Hour at 3pm. All are welcome. O Come let us adore Him!
