Tonight 29 of our young people received the sacrament of confirmation. The church was packed with family and friends who had shown up in force to show their support for the confirmation candidates. Bishop Campbell concelebrated with parish priest, Fr Chris Loughran and Deacon Darren Carden who joined the parish only this week.
With so many people in the church on a warm summer evening, it wasn’t long before the temperature in the church became a little uncomfortable. Bishop Campbell suggested that heat may be partly explained by the presence of the Holy Spirit! He also reminded those present that the future of the church lies with our young people and asked us to pray for them.
