Today the parish celebrates its patronal feast, that of St. Clare of Assisi. This well-to-do young woman of the 13th century, greatly influenced by St. Francis of Assisi, left all her worldly goods and dedicated herself solely to the worship of God and works of charity.
Such was her charisma that she soon bandied about her a group of like-minded younf women who became the fledgling Order of Poor Clares.
Today, over eight centuries later, her Order still thrives and flourishes. She is a worthy patroness of our Parish and we seek her prayerful intercession. St. Clare of Assisi - Pray for us!
