Over the last few years the Diocese has hosted a Guild of St Stephen annual meal, attended by senior altar servers.
The Guild of St Stephen is an organisation that promotes high standards of Altar serving. You may have seen the “Guild” medals around the necks of servers who have attained the required standard for membership. On Friday 4th November, the annual Guild of St Stephen meal took place at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal. Our servers were represented by Simon Hamilton, James Judge and Jonathan Day accompanied by Fr Darren.
The occasion was attended by Bishop Michael Campbell OSA as well as the recently appointed Vicar General, Canon Dunstan Cooper who spoke after dinner as invited guest.
The event is a great opportunity to meet other servers from around the diocese and the meal is one way that their work is recognised, some of which have been serving for 50 years or more!
