The celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time is always a Red Letter Day in any parish, and so it is in ours.
Over the course of the last six weeks the boys and girls have been prepared by a dedicated group of Catechists to approach this day where, in the Sacrament, they meet Jesus who loves them and wants to return them to his full friendship. So it was that at the end of their final session, the children gathered in the church for a short Service of Reconciliation where they made their Confession for the first time.
In the New Year they will begin to make preparation to receive Jesus for the first time in Holy Communion.
