As un previous years the boys and girls from St Clare's School (Key Stage 2) set the tone for the season of Advent which is the time placed before us for to get ready to celebrate the Christmas Feast.
In music and song, in tableau and using the scriptures, they set the scene. Harking back to the prophet Isaiah, they reminded us that a Messiah had been long promised. The angel came to Mary to ask her to consent to play her part in God's plan; she went to see her counsin Elizabeth, and nature of John the Baptist's role was unfolded for us. We were taken to the cusp of the nativity. But left there, for this is Advent, a time of preparing and not of celebrating.
