More precisely: 'it's off! What? Preston Guild 2012. In the third week of Guild Year and in the Octave of Prayer for Christian Unity, 2,000 people from the vast majority of churches in and around Preston gathered at the Guild Hall to pray and praise and worship God together.
It was a great credit to those who had the vision to organise such an event which has provided a spring board for the Guild Year.
All denominations were represented; civic dignitaries were present, even from South of the Ribble! A common purpose and a common mind was exhibited. Some of St. Clare's parishioners played prominent roles: Stephen Garsed giving a commenary of the Gospel reading from St. Luke werein our Lord begins his public ministry; Natalie Bonnick and Emily Read presenting the Parade of Values ably abetted by other young people.
So the first step of the Guild Year has been taken; this website will have upto date details of other Church Guild events or will provide a link to them and other Guild activities.
