This year marks the Golden Jubilee of CAFOD. This is an agency of the Bishops' Conference for England and Wales:
Catholic Fund for Overseas Development. This agency has worked tirelessly to assist our less fortunate brothers and sisters in the poorer parts of the world.
Friday of this week is the CAFOD Lent Fast Day when we are asked out of solidarity with the poor to deny ourselves some food and put the money saved into the CAFOD envelope.
Coincidentally this year Her Majesty's Government have offered to 'match fund' pound for pound money raised by CAFOD so all donations will have a special focus to them this year.
