The title gives the words of our Creator God in the Book of Genesis when he is surveying his act of creation. And that is the conclusion that the Ofsted Inspectors arrived at after they made an inspection of our Parish Primary School.
This inspection had been a long while in coming; it had been much anticipated as the months rolled on. And in some ways it was a relief when the inspection finally arrived. Always with exams, inspections and the like, there is a certain note of cautious concern, even with a school staff as good and dedicated as our own. And this attitude is far better than a complacent one. So the inspectors arrived in that period just before Easter for two days of intense and rigorous inspection leaving no stone unturned. At the end of it the staff were drained but much buoyed by the oral feed back from the inspectors.
And now the official report has been published and is available on-line; it makes very good reading for 'good' is the conclusion of the inspectors: St Clare's is a good school. There are so many heartening remarks in the report that point out how well the school is lead, how consistently good the teaching is, that the behaviour of the pupils and their active engagement with all aspects of the school is first rate. Indeed, it is not too OTT to say that the inspectors were enchanted by the children.
Could there possibly be any room for improvement? Of course! The staff at the school are constantly looking for ways to enhance their teaching and benefit the pupils; this report will only help them to do that very thing.
Congratulations all round and Thanks be to God!
