Today was the day that altar servers from across the diocese come together to celebrate mass at the cathedral in Lancaster. This year there was a strong showing from St Clare's with 19 young girls and boys making the trip, joined by a few not quite so young!
Two mini buses set off up the M6 with everyone onboard for our first stop of the day, Lancaster Cathedral. This was a great opportunity for our young servers to celebrate mass together with servers from all across the diocese and the bishop thanked all those present for their service throughout the year and presented each server with a copy of Mark's Gospel.
After refreshments and a photo opportunity with the bishop, it was time to get back in the mini buses and to head off for some fun. The destination was Morecambe for some tenpin bowling and lunch. A fun afternoon was had by all despite Fr Darren and myself being comprehensively beaten, both coming joint last on our team!
