Hodovo ChildrenAt a wonderful parish gathering at Guy's Court we said our farewells to our friends from Bosnia & Herzegovina at the end of their all too short stay. For four days they had been taken from venue to venue by Mr Purcell, Mrs Cywinski & Mrs Foster to experience a little bit of Lancashire (and scouse) hospitality.

It started on Sunday evening with a welcome Mass and a parish Jacob's Join. Monday saw them visiting the Flyde coast and then taking part in the Parish Guild Procession and then a sail on the Lancaster Canal. Tuesday was a civic day, they were feted by the Chair and vice chair of Lancashire County Council at County Hall and shown great hospitality. Later that day they met the Preston Guild Mayor, they were welcomed at a Gymnastics Club and ended the day by visiting Blackpool Illuminations.

Wednesday was their Liverpool day with a visit to the Metropolitan Cathedral, after which the boys went to Anfield and girls, shopping! And then the farewells with a shared meal at Guys. Fr Loughran took the opportunity to thank so many people for their wonderful support in helping to enable the visit of our Bosnian friends. And Stephen Connolly presented the Mayor of Stolac with a cheque for £1,000 for winter fuel for the Settlement. In turn the Mayor presented 3 copies of a book about their municipality of Stolac.

We wishes our friends a safe journey home as they were whisked off to their hotel for a few hours sleep before their very early flight on Thursday
