The celebration of the Year of Faith called by Pope Benedict will have many manifestations. One of those manifestation was the celebration of the Mass for All Nations held in our church on the eve of the Immaculate Conception.
The gathering was not huge, but a significant number of parishioners from various national and ethnic backgrounds came together for the Mass and participated in many and varied ways: the readings were in German and Tamil, Greek and Spanish were used for the Lord Have Mercy and the Gloria; the bidding prayers were spontaneous and in different languages. A beautiful offertory dance was performed by six children from the Indian sub-continent, and the Eucharistic Prayer was offered in Latin, Itailan & English. After the Post-Communion prayer but before the blessing, a time was spent in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and chants were sung in various languages to praise and thank Jesus..
Then the celebration continued with a party in the parish hall with grub to mirror the international flavour.
