Palm SundayAt the beginning of Holy Week we always remember the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. There he was greeted by the crowd and acclaimed as 'the Son of David' - the long awaited Messiah. They strew his path with their cloaks and with palm branches, hence the name given to the day.

At St Clare's, we generally mark this event with an outside procession. The weather put paid to that but, not to be completely out done, we arranged a procession inside the church. The children gathered with the clergy and servers in the side-chapel; there the palms were blest, the Gospel for the occasion was proclaimed and then all processed in to the church to join the rest of the congregation.

The children then went for their own 'lLturgy of the Word' while the people in church entered into the telling of the Passion Story.
