It seems an utter age since the boys and girls enrolled for the First Confession and Holy Communion Programme. And indeed, it was back in October. Since then they have been guided with much love and care by the parish Catechists, to understand God's loving forgiveness in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
And today all this catechetical preparation has culminated in the girls and boys receiving Jesus for the first time in Holy Communion. After receiving Holy Communion at Mass they were lead in a twofold prayer: firstly in thanksgiving for so great a gift and secondly, to think of and to pray for others.
Later in the Parish Hall the certificates were presented, grace was said, and the Communion 'breakfast' was enjoyed. The catechists were warmly thanked and a celebratory cake was cut and served.
