WHEN I NEEDED A FRIEND WHERE YOU THERE? -These are the words of a hymn sometimes sung in church at Mass. They were lived out this last weekend when very many members of the congregation responded to an appeal made the previous weekend by a member of the Parish Pastoral Council.
Ann Gardinaer had heard that the Preston Food Bank was very low on provisions to distribute to the needy of the city. The congregation was informed and the appeal met with a very generous response. On Monday morning the collected good were taken to the Food Bank (2 trips) and met with thanks by those who organise it. Parishioners have been told that they can take food direct to the Bank any time they wish.
