It is becoming a tradition at St. Clare's to have a candlelit Carols Service on the fourth Sunday of Advent. As in 2009 the snow had fallen and conditions underfoot were treacherous but, undeterred, about 100 people gathered in church to sing carols and hear the Christmas story unfold through the scriptures.
We were joined by our 'link' parish of St Mary's, Fernyhalgh; a good number of our school children were also present and helped to lead us in a couple of well-know carols.
