That phrase, trotted out every year at this time, is in danger of becoming hackneyed, but it does describe autumn so well, and the time of harvest.
In common with many parishes and schools up and down the land at this time of year, St Clare's has celebrated a Harvest Thanksgiving Service. The boys and girls gave thanks to God for his manifold kindnesses especially for the food we eat. In song and story they blessed God for the wonder of creation and their part in it.They recognised that the best way to say 'Thank you' is to share what they have, and that is what they set themselves about to do. After the Service, the food collected will be distributed amonsgt the sick, elderly and housebound members of the parish. It is not so much that they are hungry or in desperate need, but it is a sign to them that they are not forgotten.
