As is our custom, half way through the First Confession Course, the boys and girls attend a 'Presentation Mass' to receive the Act of Contrition.
This was presented to the girls and boys by Fr Carden who asked them to receive the prayer card whilst they were kneeling; he explained that kneeling down was uncomfortable, and that is how sin is - it makes us and others feel uncomfortable. He went on to tell the boys and girls that God loved them so much that he did not want them to remain uncomfortable in sin so he sent Jesus to bring us forgiveness which we receive in Confession. Jesus helps us through forgiveness to stand upright and be at peace again. Having said that, Fr Carden invited the girls and boys to stand and go to to their own Liturgy of the Word.
