Friday (June 12th) we held our annual Procession of the Blessed Sacrament in conjunction with the parish primary school.
We were doubly blessed as this was the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Service began in the School where the children were gathered in the assembly hall. Following a word of explanation, an opening prayer and a reading from scripture , the Blessed Sacrament was exposed and then carried in procession to the church.
In the church hymns were sung, each class brought forward its 'class candle' which was placed by the Monstrance; after the Prayers of Intercession and the Divine Praises the blessing was given and the children made their way back to school.
