You might not think that organising and supporting a Parish Summer Fair is Busy for the Lord but you would be wrong! Fund raising for 'Kingdom activities' is all part of being a Christian. And that is what the parish and the school were about on Friday evening. Totals have not yet been arrived at.
The Day of Renewal got underway on Saturday morning. Kristina Cooper, the editor of the Good News Magazine, was the key note speaker under the title: Called to be Missionary Disciples.Fifty people were in the audience and took part in the day, part of which was Holy Mass at noon. This was the celebration which began our Solemn Prolonged Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament (Quarant Ore). This continued until a pause for the Vigil Mass and resumed after it, running all through the night with parishioners taking it in turn to 'watch.' The next break was for the Sunday morning Mass at 9.30am but the exposition continued until 3pm when it ended with a Eucharistic Service.
