Although it was not the last day of term, the final Mass of the school year was celebrated at St Clare's church. The theme of the Mass was Thanksgiving.
The boys and girls were reminded that at the beginning of the year they attended Mass and prayed to do their very best throughout the year. This last Mass was to say thank you for so many blessing poured out upon the children over the twelve months.
A fond farewell was said to Class 8 (Y6) as they prepare to continue their education in High Schools; Mr McKeown too, was bade farewell. He has served at St Clare's for 32 years as deputy head and will be missed. Goodbye too, to one or two others moving this year to pastures new. Towards the end of the Mass a blessing was sung by the whole school over those leaving.
