The Cenacolo Houses in England and Ireland are quite small fraternities. Once a year they come together for a week to live Community life on a larger scale. Last year the brothers in the English House went to Ireland, this year the Irish fraternity came to England.

The first full day was spent at the Shrine of Our Lady at Fernahalgh which began with Mass at St Mary's church. The walk to the Shrine was punctuated by the recitation of the rosary and once, there (after a cup of coffee) it was down to the serious matter of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. The priests of the Shrine made themselves available for Confession and all of the brothers celebrated this Sacrament of the Mercy of God. After lunch and a look at the Martyr's Museum, the rosary was again prayed in the Martyr's Chapel and the walk back to the church was at 3pm and so the Divine Mercy Chaplet was recited.

Through the kindness of Corpus Christi High School, the brothers enjoyed the gift of a prolonged game of football on the all-weather pitch. Game over and showered they repaired to  St Clare's Church Hall for supper.
