Harvest Service

In any Harvest Service, rural or urban, the main theme is always thanksgiving. And that was the tenor of the Service that the boys and girls from our school led us in this afternoon.

It is true there were no mammouth marrows of prodigious pumpkins but there were lots of the family favourites provided by parents which would later be distributed by the school to the sick, elderly & housebound of the parish.

There was an abundance of thanksgiving, praise of God for what he gives us and for what he encourages us to share. Songs, scripture readings, prayers coupled with thoughtful visual images acted out by the girls & boys all helped us to see that everything is gift; and that the gift of creation has to be well stewarded.
