As winter temperatures soared it was more like an April evening than a December one and it would have been wholly inappropriate to allude to a 'bleak mid-winter.'
But whatever the meteorlogical situation, 200 people gathered in St Clare's as dusk fell for the annual Carol Service by Candlelight. It is a Service of Scripture readings and carols that tell the story of the events surrounding the birth of Jesus. The Service was enhanced by the singing of some of the children from our school accompanied by members of the teaching staff. Thus the scene is set for the forthcoming feast.
