Like many urban parishes, St Clare's has a wide mix of people attending from many different parts of the world. To celebrate this a 'Mass for all Nations' was celebrated on Easter Friday.
At the beginning of the Mass people were invited forward in continental groups; some wore national dress others brought a flag or other national symbol. The reading and bidding prayers were in a variety of languages with a translation on the overhead screen. Some of our Pakistani parishioners provided a post-Communion reflection. The theme was that how Jesus was the breaker down of barriers and how in him all are united.
After the liturgical celebrations a 'bun fight' was held in the Parish Hall, again there was a mix of international dishes and a good time was had by all.
