Well, four actually, if you count the baptism (and we do): The Summer Fair, the Day of Renewal and the Confrimations were all squeezed into one weekend, 'busy' was not the word for it.
All the stops were pulled out by the Parish and the PTFA in their usual joint effort for the Summer Fair. It was St John's Day so we asked him to intercede that the rain would stop - and it did, so the event was bathed in warm sunshine. The accompanying gallery will give a flavour of the evening and how successful it was.
Saturday dawned and 40 or 50 folk from here and there gathered in the Parish Hall to praise God and listen to two very helpful talks by Fr Conrad, a Franciscan Friar of the Renewal. With Mass, and adoration, a prayer ministry and opportunity for Confession, the event brought us all a step closer to God.
On Sunday, St John was obviously relaxing after his feast day and the rain poured steadily down, but it did not dampen the spirits of those who assembled at the evening Mass to receive this great gift of God himself, the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Diocesan Bishop conferred this great Sacrament on our young people from St Clare's School and on a few from Corpus Christi High School plus one young man from Portugal.
