Day 4: Monday 30th May 2011: Six stalwart walkers set off, at a ‘cracking pace’ from Beaumont Bridge at Skerton for the last ‘leg’ of the End2End Canal Walk.
Although it was a dull morning, we had some splendid views across Morecambe Bay and the Kent Estuary. Morning Coffee was taken at the Royal Hotel alongside the canal at Bolton-le-Sands and we continued on to the ‘Canal Turn’ (yes, another pub!) at Carnforth.
As we left Carnforth we were blessed with Bank Holiday sunshine ( if that’s not an oxymoron) for the final three miles to Tewitfield and a ‘champagne reception’; the end of the canal and the end of our sponsored walk.
