Day 1 of the End2End Sponsored Walk

on . Hits: 1901

Still as fresh as a daisy! The first day of the End2End Sponsored Walk for the parish's Hodovo Project, along the Lancaster Canal, got off to a good start at 9:30am on Friday 27th May.

The walk began with three stalwarts meeting at the Ashton Basin for the first 10-mile stretch to White Horse Lane at Barton. We passed under Blackpool Road and around Haslem Park to arrive at the Ribble Link. Morning Coffee was taken (on the tow-path) at Salwick. After passing under the M55 motorway a picnic lunch was consumed at what 'locals' will remember as 'The Jolly Rodger' at Catforth.
Further good progress was made and we arrived at our destination for Day 1 at 2:00pm and our transport back to Preston.
