8:00am on Sunday morning! A ‘solo’ walker today, I left Cabus on a grey, windy and damp morning heading for the Skerton district of Lancaster.
After passing the very distinct canal bridge on the drive to Ellel Grange, I continued on to arrive at the Glasson ‘Arm’ at Galgate. This is the only stretch of the Lancaster Canal with any locks on it. Locking down to Glasson Dock. However, this part of the canal was not on my itinery, so I continued on into Lancaster city centre, passing below the Catholic Cathedral.
Further on, the canal is carried by an aqueduct over the A6 road and the River Lune to arrive at Beaumont Bridge for the end of Day 3. One more to go!
