Tuesday 7th July 2015
Today we welcomed our guests from Hodovo as part of the youth exchange, they arrived at Manchester airport at 10pm and after clearing security we headed back to Preston to take them to the host families.
Wednesday 8th July 2015
The day started at 9am with a visit to St Clare’s school were the young people spent some time in different classes. Ante the adult helper and translator began teaching Croatian to one of the classes. St. Clare’s school provided the young people with a traditional roast dinner cooked by Jeff.
After lunch we headed off to Liverpool for the rest of the day, first was a visit to the Catholic Cathedral, before walking across Hope Street to the Anglican Cathedral. After this the group walked into the city centre were they had a couple of hour’s free time to wander around the shops. At 6pm our young people arrived in Liverpool to join the young people from Hodovo at the Albert Dock, both groups spent a couple of hours together before we went to MacDonald’s for something to eat. We arrived back in Preston at 9.30pm.
Thursday 9th July 2015
Today we joined a group of pupils from Corpus Christi to visit Lancaster, the day started with a tour of Lancaster Castle after which we visited the hill were the martyrs where killed. We then went further up the hill to Williamson park were we ate our lunch together. Once we had finished lunch the young people went into Lancaster city centre for ice cream before heading to Lancaster Cathedral for a tour. The tour was given by Fr. Andrew Dawson assistant priest at the Cathedral. We then headed back to Preston, were we met with our young people at Marino’s to eat together. We then went back to St. Clare’s where the young people enjoined some social time together till 9pm when the host families collected the young people.
Friday 10th July 2015
Today the young people are visiting Corpus Christi School.
