Friday 10th July
Today the Hodovo group visited Corpus Christi Catholic High School. First there was a tour of the school which including sometime in the gym and a game of rounders. Mid-morning the young people accompanied by some pupils from Corpus Christi, went to visit a Gymnastics suite in Preston were they were taken through their paces by one of the trainers. At lunch time the young people returned to Corpus Christi were lunch was provided by the school. After lunch the Hodovo group were joined by some of our young people who were allowed to finish school early. The group then split into two, the girls went into Preston City centre while the boys visited ‘fast cars’ in New Longton. At tea time the group went for fish and chips, before returning to St. Clare’s for a game of football and rounders.
Saturday 11th July
The day began with our monthly car wash to raise funds for the Youth Pilgrimage Fund, there were plenty of helpers with the ten young people from Hodovo. The event raised over £400 which was a great help
towards the fund. We told the young people from Hodovo if we did not raise enough money they would not be able to get back home! After the car wash the young people took a break before we headed off to Morecambe for an evening of ten pin bowling and a visit to KFC. After this they went for a walk on the front of Morecambe before we return to the host houses.
