Monday
Today we began at 08.15 for the young people to complete their dairies which they were unable to do last night as we were late back to the hotel.
After breakfast we headed off to Hodovo calling into the DIY store on the way to pick up some more supplies. Once we reached Hodovo work began straight away as there is still a lot of work to be done. At lunch time we were invited to Manny's family home for lunch which was fantastic. The young people and some of the adults stayed in the village to visit some of the families while the other adults went back to the school to carry on with the building of the framework. In the afternoon when the young people returned from the village they played football together. At 5.30pm we headed back to the hotel for dinner at 6.30pm.
After dinner the group began the climb of apparition hill, with this being the coolest part of the day it was the best time to attempt the climb, we just needed to make sure that we had begun to descend before darkness. We managed to complete the climb say the rosary as we went and spending time in quiet reflection and prayer in front of the statue of Our Lady. Once we reached the bottom there was time for the young people to buy gifts for the young people of Hodovo as tomorrow will be our last day in the village. At the same time Cathy and Lucy were bartering with a shop keeper to purchase a statue of Our Lady so that we could complete our part of the peace garden ready for St. Clare's school to complete the project. Lucy and Cathy managed to get the shop keeper down from 250 euros to 170 (where there is a will there is a way!).
