Our latest parish contact with the Hodovo School in Bosnia was in September. Fr Loughran was welcomed to the school by the Headteacher. On display was some of the PE equipment bought with fund supplied by our parish & school. Equipment is not easy to source out there and some of the items they ordered are still awaited.

On the Thursday of Easter, and still during the Easter School holidays, Fr Loughran, Mr Purcell, St. Clare's Headteacher and two parishioners: Mrs Cywinski & Mrs Foster went on a fact-find visit to a Refugee (now called Internally Displaced Persons) Settlement in Bosnia Herzegovina (BiH) at Hodovo.

I have been associated with St. Clare’s Parish for over 20 years as a parishioner, catechist and teacher.
When Father Loughran first told the parish about the Hodovo Project I felt drawn into the situation. As a parent, a teacher and as a parishioner I was interested and eager to learn more. I really wanted to help and was prepared to do what I could. I could see the children on the photographs were children in need. These children are still in need!

Friday January 22nd was the night on which the 'intelligencia' of the parish gathered together for the Hodovo Quiz Night. This was the first major function in the parish's new prioject to support a Settlement in Bosnia which still houses Internally Displaced Persons, years after the awful civil war.
