The chapel at the Royal Preston Hospital was full on Monday evening when Bishop Campbell OSA, The Bishop of Lancaster, celebrated Mass and Commissioned a host of men and women to act, not only as Extra-Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, but as official Hospital Visitors, members of the Catholic Chaplaincy Team.

Indeed, many babies came, and they brought their parents also. The occasion? A Mass of celebration for all those families who had, over the last twelve months or so, had a child baptised at St Clare's. What a joy to see so many young familes gathered for Mass.

For the fourth year in succession a group of St. Clare's Parishioners gathered at our link church: St. Mary's, Fernyhalgh on the Sunday after the feast of the Assumption of our Blessed Lady.

It had long been the aspiration of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) to hold a 'Parish Open Meeting' to share with parishioners the work they have undertaken and to learn the views and opinions of interested parties. So it was, that on the worst night you could imagine, with rain in torrents and a seeming grid-lock of traffic 60 or 70 parishioners came together for this event which started with Holy Mass.

Thanks to everyone who attended the Parish Meeting. We have now managed to collate all the feedback which we will be discussing at the next Parish Council meeting to be held on the 22nd October.
