ChildrenToday's 9.30am Mass was awash with children and their families. Two events were combined: our boys and girls in Year 6 helped to lead the liturgy: greeting & welcoming, reading the scriptures, singing & bringing forward the offertory gifts. The second event, an annual occurrance, in which the children of Year 3 age enrolled in the First Confession Programme. All were asked to support the boys & girls with prayer.

PilgrimageThe Year of Faith, inaugurated by Pope Benedict XVI, is rapdily coming to a close, indeed, we are almost there. So the last Y o F celebration was a School Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady at Fernyhalgh. The top two classes (5 & 6) with teachers and others made their way to this ancient Lancashire Shrine. The top class even walked, in proper pilgrim style.

Race NightAll the excitement of the race was to be found in St Clare's Parish Hall on Friday night when a funder raiser was organised to send some of our young people to Lourdes with the Diocesan Pilgrimage next year.
