The first Sunday of Advent, the first day of the liturgical year, was the day chosen for our boys and girls to make their First Confession.
Today's morning Mass was heaving, extra chairs had to be brought in from the Parish hall to accommodate all who came to Mass. What was happening? It was Youth Sunday and boys and girls from Year Six in our Primary School helped to lead the liturgy, together with representatives of the Uniformed organisations and our Seekers Youth Group.
The boys and girls on the First Confession Programme are heading up to the great day itself on the First Sunday of Advent. Today was a staging post in that journey; the boys and girls at the beginning of Mass received The Act of Contrition and prayed it as part of the Penitential Rite.
Thursday saw three of our senior servers attend the annual Guild of St Stephen meal in Kendal, accompanied by Fr Darren.
At our recent Parish Pastoral Council meeting we discussed our recent appeal for the local food bank and whether we should continue to support this cause.
